What is SwiftDrop?
SwiftDrop is a high-speed, privacy-first file transfer platform built for teams and power users. Transfers happen directly over your local area network (LAN) with no cloud relay by default — your files never leave your network unless you explicitly enable Relay Mode.
How it works
When two SwiftDrop devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, they discover each other automatically using UDP broadcast. The transfer happens over a direct TCP connection — fast, encrypted, and peer-to-peer.
When devices are on different networks (two offices, a remote worker connecting to the office), the Office Tunnel relay service bridges the gap. The relay only ever sees encrypted ciphertext — it cannot read your files.
Available platforms
- Android — smartphones and tablets (Google Play / APK)
- Desktop — Windows, macOS, Linux (Python/PyQt application)
- Web dashboard — manage your organisation, billing, and API keys at zashiron.org
Who is SwiftDrop for?
- Teams who need to move files between devices without cloud storage
- Power users who want fast, private LAN transfers
- Organisations with compliance requirements who cannot use consumer cloud services
- Developers who want a programmable file transfer API for their workflows
Key principles
SwiftDrop is built on three principles:
Speed — LAN transfers are limited only by your network hardware, not by artificial caps. Gigabit connections transfer files at near-line-rate speed.
Privacy — Your files are encrypted end-to-end using modern cryptography. Zashiron never sees the content of your transfers.
Simplicity — Open the app, see nearby devices, tap to send. No accounts required for basic LAN use.
